The ANC strengthens control of the Limpopo district during by-elections

The ANC demonstrated its strong foothold in the Limpopo region by comfortably securing Ward 17 in the Lepelle-Nkumpi municipality. The voter turnout revealed the party’s solid support, with the African National Congress (ANC) receiving 70% of the vote, an increase from their previous 64%. This result emphasizes the party’s continued dominance in the area. Meanwhile, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) saw a slight rise, garnering 17%, up from 15%. On the other hand, the Democratic Alliance (DA) witnessed a minor decline, capturing 12%, down from their prior 15%. Other parties like the United African Transformation (UAT) and the ELF-SA lagged with minimal voter share. Overall, this election outcome highlights the ANC’s enduring influence and voter loyalty in Limpopo, despite minor shifts in opposition support.
