This initiative connects the scenic rural area of Emalangeni, near Pennington, with popular tourist spots, offering visitors a blend of cultural engagements and natural beauty. According to Deborah Ludick, acting CEO of SCTIE, this new route provides an authentic experience of the region, supporting local entrepreneurs and employment.
Highlights of the Emalangeni Experience include historic sites such as Botha House, where guided tours detail the home’s rich history, and the Umdoni Park Nature Reserve for walking trails. Golf enthusiasts can play at Umdoni Country Club and Selborne Golf Club. Dining options include Forest Cottage, Buzy Corner Shisanyama, and Basset Breweries. Accommodations for travelers feature Essential Lifestyle Country Lodge, Ohlwini Garden Lodge, and Phiri’s Bed ‘n Breakfast. The scenic Blue Flag Pennington Beach and Nkomba Nature Reserve are additional attractions.
