SA’s water crisis | Gauteng residents could face Day Zero in future

JOHANNESBURG – If Gauteng citizens do not cut back on their consumption and municipalities fail to fix leaking infrastructure, then the province could end up facing a day zero in future.

This is the warning from water expert Anthony Turton.

A Gauteng Water Security team has now been established to address these water-related issues.

“It is vitally important to stabilise the water supply situation in Gauteng. 

“Gauteng is going to face day zero. Predictable day zero in the not-too-distant future,” he said.
