Sanco in North West wants Ngaka mayor Modiri Molema fired | City Press

Former president Jacob Zuma was recently elected chairman of KwaZulu-Natal, while Mpumalanga chose Vusie Robert Shongwe, the MEC for Safety, Community Safety, and Connectivity, as their new chairman. Meanwhile, in North West Province, the new leadership of the SA National Civics Organization (Sanco), led by Chairman Tshepo Khoza, is demanding the removal of Ngaka Modiri Molema Municipality Mayor Khumalo Molefe. They accuse Molefe of self-serving actions, including disrupting tender processes, favoritism, and violating financial management laws. Sanco claims Molefe mismanaged funds and sought personal gain, evidenced by luxury purchases supposedly financed by business owners at his behest. The group has urged the Prime Minister for prompt investigation. These actions follow Molefe’s controversial practices and alleged misuse of funds for community projects. Sanco’s leadership, freshly elected at a Klerksdorp conference, is now preparing for a national Sanco conference where further leadership elections will take place on November 25. Attempts to reach Molefe for comments were unsuccessful.
