Former Free State Prime Minister Ace Magashule spent almost three years fighting the state’s asbestos scam case against him, giving prosecutors enough time to successfully seek the extradition of the PA, which allegedly linked him to that corrupt scheme.
In a ruling on Friday, Maryland District Court magistrate Judge Erin Aslan said the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) had provided sufficient evidence to substantiate the fraud and corruption case against Magashule’s ex-PA, Moroadi Cholota. could be extradited to South Africa.
Aslan found”[t]The evidence before this court is sufficient to justify committing Ms. Cholota to trial if the crimes with which she is accused were committed in the United States.
