Our client in the agricultural sector is looking for a regional manager to join their company in the Western Cape area.

Summary:

The regional manager is responsible for the region’s profitability and is a coach and manager to the technical sales reps (TSRs). They are also responsible for partnering with distributors in the relevant region.

Requirements:

  • BCom/BSc or equivalent qualification
  • Must reside in the Western Cape area
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people (employee lifecycle).
  • Knowledge of the agriculture industry or similar (for example, forestry)

Responsibilities:

  •  Achieving the region’s revenue and profitability.
  • Managing the entire employee lifecycle, including but not limited to recruitment, induction, performance management, and growth and development to motivate, engage and retain staff to increase and maintain company performance.
  • Providing quality mentorship for regional sales representatives while always upholding the company’s values.
  • Establishing an environment and foundation for future sales growth.
  • Directing the region’s selling activities, including resource deployment and customer
    interactions.
  • Prioritising effectively with corporate objectives.
  • Responsible for the region’s forecasting and sales tracking.
  • Setting the vision for the region and developing and adhering to a business plan to attain this vision.
  • Evaluating market trends and gathering competitive information, identifying trends that affect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability.
  • Develop and create new ideas, systems, and relationships for the company’s success.
  • Analyse information and evaluate results to make the best decision in solving problems to provide direction, support and assistance to the region.
  • Develop specific plans and goals to help in accomplishing tasks efficiently.
  • Encourage and build team spirit among staff, bringing mutual respect and cooperation.
  • Identify new opportunities and exploit them to the benefit of the company
