Newly Appointed KZN Prime Minister Thami Ntuli Unveils Cabinet

In a historic event, Thami Ntuli of the Inkatha Freedom Party was inaugurated as Prime Minister of KwaZulu-Natal on June 18, 2024. Speaking from Woodburn Rugby Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, Ntuli emphasized unity, cooperation, and a commitment to serving the province’s people. His rise to power was enabled by a coalition of ANC, IFP, DA, and NFP, which defeated the MK party. Ntuli noted the electorate’s mandate for a coalition government and expressed gratitude for their support.

He praised the leadership of women appointed to key positions, such as Nontembeko Boyce and Mbali Tembe. Dedicating the election campaign to party founder Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, Ntuli pledged to uphold principles of service and integrity. His administration aims to enhance crime-fighting, stability, and service delivery, with the Department of Community Safety and Liaison under his office. Ntuli urged his cabinet to prioritize the people and promised inclusive governance, concluding with a call for collective effort towards progress.
