The girl’s father had left her with her aunt and Khoza. The young victim immediately reported the incident to her aunt, leading to Khoza’s arrest the same day. Despite pleading not guilty, the evidence, including testimony from the girl aided by mediation services and a doctor’s confirmation of her injuries, led to his conviction. The National Prosecution Service praised Prosecutor Jacqui Letsoalo and the investigating officer, expressing hope that the sentence provides closure to the victim’s family.
