KZN Prime Minister Thami Ntuli Unveils Coalition Executive Team

The ruling coalition in KwaZulu-Natal has outlined an equitable distribution of executive power, granting the most influential party the largest number of executive roles in the province’s national unity government. Prime Minister Thami Ntuli announced ten cabinet members, with the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) securing four key positions: Public Enterprise, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), Agriculture, and Sports. The African National Congress (ANC) will manage Health, Education, Transport, and Human Settlements, holding the second-highest number of posts. The Democratic Alliance (DA) oversees Finance and Public Works, and the National Freedom Party (NFP) leads Social Development. This distribution aligns with the coalition agreement, reflecting the recent voting proportions: IFP at 18%, ANC at 16%, DA at 14%, and NFP with one executive member. Key appointments include Musa Zondi (Economic Development, IFP), Nomagugu Simelane (Health, ANC), and Francois Rogers (Finance, DA).
