Heat wave continues in the Free State, North West and Limpopo, the weather service warns

JOHANNESBURG – Limpopo, North West, and Free State residents should brace for continued heatwave conditions in the coming days. The South African Weather Service has reported unusually high temperatures this weekend across several provinces. Northern regions experienced scorching temperatures, climbing to 40 degrees Celsius.

Gauteng is also experiencing warmer weather, though it hasn’t officially hit heatwave status. Forecaster Celeste Fourie advises everyone to take precautions to stay cool over the coming week. She recommends staying hydrated with non-alcoholic beverages and seeking shade during peak heat hours. Additionally, Fourie urges people to work in shaded areas if possible and avoid being near heat-generating appliances.
