Hazyview police are probing the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old woman and the wounding of her male passenger near a restaurant. Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, reported that the incident occurred just before 6 PM on Thursday. According to Mdhluli, two armed men exited a silver Toyota Etios with Gauteng plates and opened fire, injuring the male passenger and fatally wounding the female driver. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Authorities found empty rifle and pistol cartridges nearby. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
