Gauteng Legislature | Panyaza Lesufi comments on provincial governance

JOHANNESBURG – Panyaza Lesufi has been re-elected as the Gauteng Prime Minister and is set to unveil his new cabinet soon. The African National Congress (ANC), which garnered just over 34 percent of the vote, now faces the challenge of forming a coalition to maintain governance over South Africa’s economic hub.

In an interview with eNCA, Lesufi shared insights into his priorities as he prepares to govern alongside other parties. The coalition’s success will hinge on their ability to work together towards common goals for the province. Lesufi emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing Gauteng’s pressing issues, such as economic development, healthcare, and public safety.

As he assembles his cabinet, Lesufi’s focus will be on selecting leaders who can contribute effectively to a stable and functional governmental framework. The central task is to foster cooperation and avoid political gridlock, ensuring the provincial administration can deliver on its promises to the people of Gauteng. By prioritizing these areas, Lesufi aims to create a more prosperous and secure environment for all residents.
