A tragic series of accidents in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) beginning on June 15 has resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. On June 18, a four-vehicle collision on the R102 near Mandini claimed at least one life. IPSS Medical Rescue confirmed that four individuals suffered minor injuries while one seriously injured patient was airlifted by Netcare 911 helicopter for further treatment.
Over the same weekend, three other severe accidents were reported in KZN. On June 15, a light van carrying seven people overturned on the R74 near Kranskop, resulting in four deaths and three injuries. The injured were taken to Ntunjambili Hospital. Additionally, a vehicle rolled off an embankment on the R617 in Merrivale, killing all four occupants.
On June 16, a truck accident occurred on the R617 near Boston. The driver died, and a passenger was critically injured. These incidents have collectively resulted in at least nine fatalities in the region.
