JOHANNESBURG – The Health Department says it has received the first batch of medicine to treat severe cases of Mpox.
This as cases continues to rise, with the tally now sitting at 13.
The department is calling on anyone with MPOX symptoms to be tested.
They include a rash lasting between two and four weeks, fever, muscle aches, back pain, low energy, and swollen glands.Â
The department has observed that all of the patients are dealing with long-term underlying conditions like HIV.Â
This indicates a significant likelihood of immunocompromised individuals if medication is not followed as directed.
