The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the Eastern Cape aims to complete the recording of election results by 11 PM on Friday, covering 39 municipalities. Meanwhile, audits for municipalities, including Dr. Beyers Naude and Amahlathi, have been completed. Final counting is expected to finish by 10 PM on Friday, and the national announcement of the results is scheduled for Sunday evening. The projections show the ANC maintaining control over regions like North West, Mpumalanga, and the Free State.
