DA files objection in 3 voting districts in Eastern Cape | News24

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the Eastern Cape aims to complete the recording of election results by 11 PM on Friday, covering 39 municipalities. By 3 PM, around 90% of the results were recorded. The Democratic Alliance (DA) has filed a complaint regarding discrepancies at three polling stations in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. Kayakazi Magudumana, the IEC’s Eastern Cape electoral officer, confirmed the objection but did not elaborate on the details. She mentioned that the concerns had been forwarded to the IEC’s national office for further investigation. The DA seeks transparency and satisfaction regarding these discrepancies. Meanwhile, audits for municipalities, including Dr. Beyers Naude and Amahlathi, have been completed. Final counting is expected to finish by 10 PM on Friday, and the national announcement of the results is scheduled for Sunday evening. The projections show the ANC maintaining control over regions like North West, Mpumalanga, and the Free State.
