50% women representation in Premier Ramathuba’s executive council

Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba says her executive council is made up of 50% women representation and it also includes the representation of young people.

Ramathuba says the ANC is a non-sexist organization that believes in gender equality and believes in young people.

She was speaking following the announcement of her executive council in Polokwane on Tuesday.

The Premier says the ANC’s Women League and the ANC Youth League did not have to force her to elect women or young people to form part of her executive council because it is the right thing to do to have women representation and young people.

She says it is not just Tonny Rachoene who is a young person in the EXCO, but also Masesi Mashego who has been entrusted with the responsibility to lead the department of health.

Ramathuba says their key priorities as the 7th administration is job creation, industrialisation, economic growth and service delivery to the people and they will work together to realise the key priorities.

The premier says they want to ensure that there is industrialisation, improved water provision in communities and road infrastructure.

She says other areas of priority include health, education and crime.
